How big is your monitor?

A couple days ago I bought one of the new iMacs with a 27" monitor.
My first impression is that it's too big.
I have 14 days to get used to it (even fall in love with it) or bring it back for a full refund - or trade it for a 21.5" model.

Have any of you bought a large monitor and not liked it at first, but now do?

The new trackpad is soooo cool.
It has to be much better for your wrist and fingers since it take almost zero pressure to use.

i need sleep.. i read, "How big is your mother?"

I have a 21" and it's perfect. tried a 24" and it was too big. Had a 17" and it was too small. Dont like to move my eyes much or scroll when i read.

Ha me too! I was just going to post that!

I use a laptop (13" MacBook Air) but my husband has a Mac with the 27" screen and he loves it. I've used it and it does seem pointlessly large, but I think it's very useful if you do a lot of photo editing or graphic design work.

Honestly, I usually just use my netbook, so the screen is pretty small (about 10" or so). My MacBook's screen is 13", which I think is perfect, because I don't really like big, bulky laptops.

My fiance has two huuuuge monitors that he uses with his desktop computer (some sort of Macintosh - sorry, I'm really not savvy with the different makes and models like he is), and I really love using them sometimes.

I got one of the new iMacs the other day as well. I went with the 21.5 and it's just perfect. The 27 was enormous and unless I wanted it to double as a TV there was no point. I also LOVE the new trackpad!!! This is my first Mac and I love it all the way around.

Thing2, yeah I intend to do more photo editing and also video editing, so it may come in handy.
Oh, and also for videos the large screen is wonderful.

But for PS or other Internet surfing it's ginormous.
Right now it feels like I'm driving a MAC TRUCK in a 7-11 parking lot.

I don't use a separate monitor. My home laptop is 17" (I rarely take it places, so I wanted something large) and my work laptop is 14.1" (which is good, because I carry it everywhere with me and any bigger would be annoying)

I have a macbook, so it only has a 15'' screen.

Me three! All day I kept on wondering what kind of question you asked inside this thread Kenny, but I wasn't brave enough to click on it until just now.

I have a standard size monitor, whatever that is. My mom used to use a gigantic monitor when she worked in desktop publishing. It made me dizzy.

My computer has two monitors hooked up to it. Yes, I have dual monitors. Both LCD.

The larger one is: 24", smaller is 19"

The kids' LCD is: 23.5" ??? is that right? I'm suppose to just measure the monitor, not the frame around it, correct?

Anyway, they're all around that size.

ETA - the iPad has a quaint little measurement.
