Hi

I requested a 2mm wide wedding band with Leon. My friend did as well and mine is obviously wider. How accurate are his measurments?
What happens in a case like this? It has been one year.

After one year, nothing happens. If your really want to know how thick it is ... just measure it :)

My rings from him are accurate.

I did and it is 2.2

I don't think it should matter that it is a year later. I figured it was accurate.

If the .2 mm really on others you contact him

I am not sure that there is much that can be done after a year. If you had measured it right after you got it or had an appraiser measure it then perhaps he would be willing to fix it.

i encountered the same situation when i had my setting done with him. i requested 1.8mm and i got 2.0-2.1mm measured by my appraiser. the halo was also thicker than i had requested.

Send him a check for the extra metal and be done with it.

Send him a check for the extra precious metal he gave you and be done with it.

I agree it is too late, but the OP owes him nothing. You can seriously mess up the design of a ring by not making it the width it was ordered.

I didn't have it measured as I did not think that I had to. It wasn't until buying another one that I can see the difference.
Plus, I don't have my ering yet so that will affect the whole design!
O think when you are paying to have 2mm, it should be 2mm. Suggesting that he did me a favor by giving me extra metal
Is just plain stupidity.

Well, maybe just call him and see what he says. I'd explain that you has no reason to verify the width and now that you are buying a another ring you noticed the difference and see what he says? Too much time has probably passed, unfortunately and I'm not sure Leon would do anything to correct it as this point but it's always worth a phone call to discuss with him.

great post

I had it remeasured again somewhere else and they said it is in fact 2mm! That means my friends ring from him
Is not 2mm like she requested, but a bit thinner.
At least mine is ok. :)

When we're talking about handmade rings, I feel like a margin of error that's the size of a slim needle should be expected. .02mm is a very, very small difference... apparently within the margin of error for measuring it.

I think Kenny was just joking... ;))

Glad it did turn out right.

There is no "margin of error" .

1.8 and 2.0 are definitely two different widths.

OP, though, I will say you should probably have definitive information before making a post like this.

yes you are right. I should of triple checked. :(
