Hello everyone!

I''ve been looking around for a few months now and brushing up on my limited diamond knowledge. I''m trying to narrow stones down. What do you think of this bad girl?

Shape: Princess
Carat weight: 0.92
Cut: Ideal
Color: G
Clarity: SI1
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 71.9%
Table: 68%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Thin
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 5.32*5.27*3.79
Ratio: 1.01

Price is around $3100 or so...any input would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

could be nice

I am not a lover of less than GIA medium girdle for princess and emerald cuts, but not everyone agrees.

Spread is OK, but not great.

But noone can comment on the cut from the #''s.

Can you get an ASET image or at least an ideal-scope pic

the girdle on that bad girl is actually thin-thick (JA typed it in incorrectly - you can check it on the GIA cert).

i too am not a big fan of thin girdles on princess cuts; i also dont like wide variety on the girdles (ex: thin-thick). otherwise it ''sounds'' ok but there''s not enough info to tell...

this stone''s in your price range; the girdle info''s missing but if you call WF, they shld be able to get that info to you: $3200 .96 G SI1

Ouch! Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the critique and suggestions. I read a little about the princess and was looking for a comparatively small table compared to the depth. Isn't that supposed to give the most fire? I'm ALL about the fire! I didn't realize the girdle thickness could be a big deal, but reading up some, it seems I might want to look for a medium? Or a thick? Also, most in my range dont have photos or scopes or any of the fancy stuff to go along with it...what are the chances they can attain them for me? Aren't alot of these diamonds not on hand (they'd have to order it and they dont know any more than I do)? Oh, and what do you think is the best table/depth ratio for fire? I know I'm asking alot but all Im seeing are ranges for the table and depth. The min and the max for each. That doesnt give a great ratio as for all I know it could be 64%/75% or 70%/71%...I just dont know!

Thank you, any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated...my knowledge is so limited.

I would suggest sticking to AGS graded stones, they will ensure a pretty diamond with good light return, without the guesswork.

If you could give us the top amount of your budget for the stone only, we'd gladly help you!

Thanks Ellen. I''m trying to stick around the $3200 range, but if its worth it, I''d go a bit higher.

Ok. Here''s what I could find. Great company to work with.

3231.60 with bankwire.

This one is a GIA, however, I would trust that it''s a good performer.

2741.00 with bankwire.

Another great company to work with. And I''m not sure if it''s 5% PS discount on Princess (I think it is), I know there is on rounds. Need to ask.
