HI:

In one word, stunning! Congrats.

cheers--Sharon

Stunning ring! I don''t think I''ve seen a princess set that way- I love the slim knife edge - very sleek and gives all the attention to that amazing stone.
Well done!

Wow! What a great princess! She''ll love it...what a lucky gal!

"v" prong settings for princess cuts rock. Nice.

Cool!

Which diamond is this? The picture seems to show a slightly thick girdle, large table & flat crown... which sounds like the original choice you had lined up. Just curious

Can''t imagine how a traditional ring like this could be not liked - it''s pretty much the safest bet there is aside letting the girl do the shopping, IMO.

no, I actually ended getting somthing else. the measurments came out to be the IDEAL princess cut... at least that is what 3 apprasials told me. I believe it was around 68 table and 70 depth with measurement ratio at 1.001 or something.

Beautiful, beautiful ring....I''m sure she will love it! Congrats!

How beautiful!

It was like 2.05 carats
Color - H
Clarity - VS2

Got another apprasial from GIA -

Lady gave me G for color
and VVS2-VS1 for clarity.

Why the discrepancy between GIA grads?

where did you purchase it?

This was the kicker.

The GIA certificate was really:

Color H and clarity SI1

the seller told me that he has been in business for years and NEVER saw such a great diamond that was a SI1.. so he told me if u can find some one who apprases it for SI1, he would give me $500 - $1000 back. So I was like ok.

I took it to a GIA grad to appraise it after buying it for the 2nd appraisal (Ginger''s in VA). the lady told me that to her it was
a G in color and AT least a VVS2-VS1 in clarity.

I told her well the cert says SI1.. she was like NO way. The person grading it must of HAD a bad day. She said if u want, send it back to GIA and I gurantee u that it will come back with better results. She told me that I got lucky from someone elses mistake.

So after 2 GIA people telling me the same thing, I felt pretty happy about the purchase.
