I need some help with window treatments for the master bedroom and guest bedroom (both rooms are in the front of the house). Our house is a two-story "traditional" home with large windows. The windows are almost to the floor. I have blinds in them now, but I don''t always want to have to close the blinds. When it''s dark and the lights are on, you can see everything in the room. I don''t want to cover the windows with heavy drapes so I think I just need sheers to filter the window a little bit. The rooms aren''t decorated in a formal style, but more of a Pottery Barn look. The walls in the master bedroom are dark brown and the other room is pear green and the woodwork is white. The bedding in each room has some taupe shades in it. Should I go with white sheers or more of a taupe. I don''t necessarily like the look of white curtains, but I''m not sure if I should coordinate with the white woodwork or play off the taupe tones in the bedding?

I tried to look on Pottery Barn for some inspiration pics, but it all seems to be living/dining rooms. Does anyone have any good pictures of places to order from with a similar look?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Remember sheers are sheers, so they''re not going to look stark white. They''ll pick up the color on the walls around them. You also mentioned that you have white trim. So you''re already ''used'' to white in that place on the walls. What about picking up an inexpensive panel and putting it up to see how it looks. If you like it you can invest in the full length good quality panels.

Is the white woodwork in both bedrooms? If not, I would use a white sheer where you have white trim and then taupe in the other room. I purchased some unlined linen panels from Pottery barn and they do a good job of letting in light but also blocking other people's views into our house. They are a dark brown but have a sheer kind of quality to them.

Have you looked at William Sonoma Home?

Restoration Hardware? Crate and Barrel?

Mm, I agree with Oobiecoo that white could look really nice in the room with pear green walls and white trim.
Generally though, I LOVE cream and beige tones, so I would look closely at taupe as well!
