I have a 2+ ct rectangular white Radiant (8.51mm x 6.86mm) and my fiance has settled on the following 2 settings. Both the settings are not meant for rectangular cuts, so I'm most likely going to go with a local jeweler to do a custom. In terms of the look, which one do you think will look the best as a setting for the center stone?

Here are the links to images of the settings: HOF OR Tacori (Hope you don't mind Mrs. Smitty)

I''ve noticed a lot of people here love Tacori and own it as well, so I mean no offense. I would just mention in case you and your girlfriend are not aware, that Tacori has cheapened their own name by mass-producing platinum plated over silver cubic zirconia pieces for QVC television shoppers. I''ve seen Mr Tacori on the show pushing this fake stuff and raving about how he creates it just like the real thing and you can''t tell the difference! Yikes!! The QVC sales associates make a really big deal over this by telling the ladies that have always wanted a Tacori but couldn''t afford it, that now they can! Anyone and everyone can have Tacori -- even Mr. Tacori himself states that you can''t tell the difference between his cheap throw-aways and the platinum/diamond pieces! That just makes me wonder what''s wrong financially that Tacori needed to sell out like that?
I don''t know, I just feel that if I had worked hard building a high-end well-respected brand, I wouldn''t stoop to selling mass-merchandise on home TV shopping. But then again, they''ve made thousands of Tacori dreams come true as QVC $49.99 big spenders proudly wear their very own "looks like the real deal" plated CZ junk.

Both settings are beautiful. You might want to have your FF try the rings on with a matching wedding band. That could help her make up her mind. Going the custom route may not give you the look you desire, however. Both rings have complex design features which could be difficult to duplicate. That being said, I think the HOF would be better for a radiant. It is shown with their square dream diamond and it does complement the stone. I think the Tacori is better suited to a RB.

Totally agree. HOF would be MUCH better suited.

Thank you all for replying and voting.

I have a local jeweler here who already has a setting that looks very very similar to the Tacori; and in my opinion, perhaps slightly better. I showed them my stone and they said that they can make it work for my rectangular radiant. Now I know they''re trying to sell their wares so I do take their opinion with a grain of salt but looking at the setting, I think they can make it work for a rectangular radiant.

That being said, I''m also leaning a bit more towards the HOF but that means it''ll definitely have to be a custom. Like RisingSun mentioned, I''m not sure if it''s going to come out as nice as the HOF in the picture if I go the custom route.

We were also considering this halo twisty but decided against it since it might look a bit gaudy on her tiny 3.5 ring size finger.

The link to the HOF ring didn''t work for me, can you post a picture somehow? I do like the tacori ring posted a lot, but I can''t compare it to the other setting.

I love that Tacori, but the HOF is pretty too. I do have a Tacori, so I am partial. I don't have a problem with Tacori selling less expensive designs on QVC. Here's a link to the Tacori stuff on QVC. It looks nothing like the real thing. http://www.qvc.com/cgen/render.aspx?qp=class|J074&rewrite=no I'm sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but a $68 diamonique stone set into a sterling silver band is not going to fool even the dumbest of observers.

What does rub me the wrong way is Tacori selling the real deal on overstock.com, while the retail stores are not allowed to discount even closeout styles. I ran into this when I found a setting I liked. I finally ended up with a Tacori after shopping for a new wedding set for months, albeit one that is not being sold on overstock.com. Tacori should let retailers mark down closeout styles so that they can compete with overstock.com, especially since the retail stores are their bread and butter.

For a radiant, in Tacori, I like the 2579 a lot. Pic below.

I like the halo twisty that you posted and bet it would look fantastic on her 3.5 finger!

DanielNJ, I love your split too.

One of the things I worry about when it comes to the split portion, on both the HOF and Tacori, is that it''ll have to split wide enough to accomodate the entire length of the diamond. Since I have a rectangular radiant, would that split be too wide? I tried looking all over the internet and having found a split setting on a rectangular diamond. Has anyone seen a pic?

Hey, I saw a split a while back in Hamilton Jewellers here in NJ. Its their 1912 Model, it had a 3ct Radiant, 8.56 x 7.01 I think, very rectangular, and it looked amazing. Look online at their setting. FYI

I love this one for a Radiant. I think there is a picture of a radiant in the tacori setting somewhere. Off to look.

You can''t go wrong. All the settings look beautiful to me.

They are both pretty. I like the HOF setting though. I also have a split shank from HOF and get complimented on it all the time. It is so unique yet timeless.

Thanks again everyone for all your thoughts & ideas. I love pricescope and its members

The winner sounds like it''s going to be HOF.

I''m going to send the image to a few local jewelers and Whiteflash to see if they can reproduce this for a rectangular radiants.

Will definitely posts pics when it''s done.
