We each have a car, and it''s definitely a His and Hers situation.

His car smells like dude. I prefer to drive mine.

That is FUNNY! I totally get it when you say your DH''s car ''smells like dude.'' I can definitely smell DH when I drive a car after he does.

It really is the best way to describe the odor, LOL!!!! We should market air fresheners. "For the dude in your life."

Yes, we have his and hers cars. Maybe it''s because we got them before we were married, but when DH got his new car last year, I remember he specifically asked me: "What would you say to me getting a new car?" I suppose it could change when we have kids and need a family car, but until now we''ve been talking about whose car should be the bigger ride, so I don''t think it will change in the near future. Man, I''m dreading getting that minivan/SUV.

Mine: Accord coupe
His: MB SLK

I agree how it''s funny the women here generally seem to prefer the smaller cars. When we first got married, he had a TSX, which was the "big" car because it was easier to get people in and out of the back seats. When he switched cars to a roadster, my car became the "big" car, since it was the only car that could seat up to five people. Did I mention I''m not looking forward to getting a car that can accommodate car seats?

I guess we''ll have to make the transition some time, to me getting a soccer mom car and him getting a fuel efficient commute vehicle. Even when we do, it will still be called mine and his. We both have keys to each other''s cars.

We definitely have his and hers. But it's kind of a first. For a long time we shared a car. Then we got two cars, but they were identical. But now we have his sports car that I'm not keen on driving but that he loves, and my sporty compact that I adore and he's 'meh' about. But we are both happy for each other having found the right car. Oh, and we definitely have keys to each others and drive each others, but each of us perfer the cars we chose for ourselves.

ROFL! Or maybe we should market them to single women who miss having a guy around. (I''m sure we can find one somewhere! LOL!) "The smell of dude, for those who are dudeless!"

Good question. The truck is my husband''s truck. The car is our car which when we are in it at the same time I never get to drive. My husband always teases me he has to be drunk to ride with me - I tease him it''s amazing he even lets me drive "his" car then. His response to that is he doesn''t have to watch what I am doing. In all fairness though he does tell other people it''s my car.

He has his and I have mine.
I don''t mind if he borrows mine and vice versa, but I usually go right to mine when I leave for work.
I do like his too, but I hate having to change all the settings ( like seat, mirrors etc ) so I stick to my car.

We just share a car, so it''s "The Car". Luckily hubs and I only need to adjust the rear view mirror when we driving between each other.

We own 3 Jeeps - a Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, and Liberty. The Liberty is "mine", the Cherokee is "his" and the Wrangler was "ours" before we bought the other 2, but now it''s his project vehicle. We will occaisonally drive each other''s vehicles, but if we go anywhere together we generally take the Cherokee, just because it''s more luxurious.

Imagine the killing we could make! I see potential here!

We have two vehicles. A truck that DH uses for work and a car that I use and when we go somewhere together either of us will drive it. I call it my car and his truck. Even though both of us are on the financing it will be titled in my name and is registered in my name. He also call his truck his and my car mine. It never occured to use to call it our car/truck.

We have his and hers. He bought his car after we started dating, but the car loan is in his name and it''s primarily used by him (and the kids) and mine is smaller and only one month away from being paid off! When he is out of town and I am alone with the kids, we drive his car because it''s roomier.

Oh and my car is the "cheaper" one......

cheers--Sharon

We have his and hers--we both owned them before we even met and both own them outright in our own names. Mine is cute and little and fun-looking. His is a beat-up old SUV, complete with cracked windshield, barely functioning doors, oxidized paint, and more dents than I care to count. He absolutely loves that car, and even though we''ve been able to afford something much nicer for a while now, he will not get rid of that thing. I refuse to drive it, so it''s definitely all his.

Sharon, you need one of our patented anti dude air fresheners.

Mine is also the less expensive car.

We both owned our cars before we met. But we refer to them as the big car (mine) and the little car(his)...they are very much "his and hers" but we both drive eachother''s car occasionally. When we get new cars after we are married I tend to think it will still be his and hers but I''m sure they will still remain little and big. FI likes smaller sport cars, hes had a civic, bmw 3 series, etc... I tend to drive bigger cars, bad accident a few years ago, my car saved my life so I tend to like bigger, heavier cars.

In a few years it will be the car and suv, need room for strollers!
