Hi,
I was wondering which one would show off a solitaire more a) if it was set higher or b) set lower. Work indoors so lifestyle isn''t an issue. I just want the round diamond to look more brilliant.
Thanks in advance!

What makes a diamond beautiful and brilliant is the CUT.

Regarding the setting... it''s really just personal preference. I like my diamond set low and squatty... although I do think having a diamond set up higher may make it look a bit bigger... and that''s always a plus (in my book, anyway!)

From my experience, most women prefer a "medium high" setting. Not low, not high, but "medium high".

Your diamond setter will know what I''m talking about.

agree with Lynn.

My FF says she wants a higher setting. Is a Mark Morrell sunburst considered a high, low, mid setting?

Ditto - for any design there is an optimum height - not too low and not so high that it will be precarious.

Usually we let our designer and setter work together to work out the right balance unless a client has a storng prefernce on setting as low as possible or as high as possible.
