Have some questions on a cushion cut stone:

I have recently put a deposit down on a stone but now having second doubts. It's a 2.32ct E VS2 with 70% table Medium to extremely thick, the cut and brilliance were as good as I could tell as I'm not a pro, Polish and Symmetry are also very good/good, its not a shattered glass cut. What I loved about this stone was the fact that it actually looked bigger and it was bigger compared to other 2.3/2.4s, it was a also E. It was the best stone I saw there compared to a few others as it was wider and had a better fire/brilliance, the facets were perfectly sized. But I'm wondering if my decision making based on just how it looked bigger is not correct and I'm ending up with a lower "quality" stone.

After looking at a few other vendors, most stones that I also looked at had only a 58% to 62% table. The vendor I'm buying from is telling me this type is rare to find and I should not be concerned. I can in comparison get one in 2.3 E VS1 58% top, slightly thick to slightly thick and polish symmetry excellent/excellent, and cut is similar to this but from a different vendor slightly higher price.

It makes the mind think it looks bigger due to the large table glare. In return for the table glare, it sacrifices fire (coloured sparkle). To know whether it actually faces up large, you have to compare the mm size. Cushions come cut in all sorts of depths from flat pancake to belly deep. I don't like any of the extremes, preferring a middle ground but never sacrificing that for the light return. Unfortunately, you probably compared this one to a whole slew of poorly cut cushions which doesn't automatically makes this one an excellent cut cushion. Observe it away from the jewellery store lights. Does it still sparkle as much in the shade, sunlight, fluorescent, etc? Are there any dark areas, bowties, areas that are see-through?

Was this from a B&M store? I can tell you that based on what I've read and seen, that is a REALLY large table, and are way over ideal specs for a cushion cut of any size(that is if light performance is important to you). Furthermore, you mentioned the girdle being thick to very thick which would suggest that this is where the majority of the cast at weight is held(not ideal). It's all about what is important to you...if size is the important factor in your decision, and this is at a steal of a price...go for it. However, I'm assuming that if you put this to an ASET or ideal scope image test that you'd likely see a lot of leakage and more green than red. Ask them if they can run that test for you.

I think you can find a better cushion. This one will not have the fire and brilliance of a well cut cushion.
have you looked on line at Pricescope Vendors, Good old gold, B.E., IDJ? All of these vendors are located in NY so you can also view the diamonds in person. Good Old Gold has videos of cushions and a great return policy if you dont like any diamond once its shipped to you if you are not in NY.
What is your budget and specs?

Am I the only one that thinks the table on that diamond looks crooked?

Looks off to me but could be a trick of the camera. This how the table looks to me.
