I took an old ring apart and made a new setting for the stone. I repurposed the shank from the old ring. The high domed cab looks like a yummy gum drop!

 The color is just captivating on that cabochon. I love the work you did on this. It's perfect for it. That ring looks like it has magic in it, cosmic far eye, or something. Seeing one like this I can easily get why they were historically such a big deal.
I'm so impressed with you, me and miss Susan both giving the look right now! Mmhmm

would it be rude to ask if i could lick it ?
it just looks so lushuse and juicy

Not a rude request at all! Yes, you can come here and see if it tastes like a grape lolly!
After all, I rub pearls across my teeth all the time, too. I'm not worried about a little spit...

I really appreciate all the support and encouragement for my homemade jewelry!
I also think the purple color is so regal. The shape of the stone does give it a mysterious glow.
As you can see, I use advanced tools to get this cutting edge style! I taped it down and whacked it with a hammer and a straight slot screwdriver.

Stop calling it homemade, it's handmade- you are a silver artisan, dammit!
Now, go and get a colorful silk scarf and walk around in it displaying your work.
I love what you do. I'll always be a cheerleader for you, my dear. Deal

Nom nom nom!! :lickout: It looks like this project was a fun one for you (and your kitty). The result is bold, but playful, and so clean as usual. And that stone... I love seeing blue in amethyst! Gorgeous piece!!

The garnet carbuncle immediately crossed my mind too! Cabochons are so luscious!

There it is! So yummy!
I really like that rope detail. I might try that style next time.
I have a blue chalcedony that needs a home......

I love this, the color of the amethyst is so rich and gorgeous, I am partial though it being my birthstone.

You are a true artist, you make it seem so easy, like throwing together a soup. You never cease to amaze me with your creations.

Thanks Yada!
It really isn't easy. Soup is much easier!
It's a lot of fiddling around with tiny pieces. And getting the bezel just right is time consuming. Things don't always go as planned. And sometimes if you mess up, you might have to start over, which is frustrating.
