Hey everyone! My mom is on a low sodium/low fat diet. Can anyone suggest some foods that are low in sodium and fat (btw, she cannot eat anything with artificial sugars). I have found quite a few foods just by browsing at the grocery store, but I am looking for more, especially some tasty foods!
Thank you!!

I should have titled this "low sodium foods".........

Oatmeal, cook them yourself and don''t buy any processed food like cereal and canned food. Avoid all processed meat like hotdog and ham all together. The best rule of thumb is to make most things from scratch with raw ingredients yourself. If eating pre-made food is necessary, read the labels for sodium/fat content very carefully.

Once one goes more natural and limits sodium intake, one develops a distinct dislike of too much salt. If a cookie has too much salt, I can taste it immediately and can''t eat it.

I recommend creating your own broth from simmering chicken or meats. There are some really great low/no sodium herb seasoning mixed on the market now. Costco even came out with a Kirkland Signature one that is amazing.

I tend to eat a lot of raw almonds and raw walnuts. I even have an addiction to dipping raw almonds in "Smart Balance" which tastes like butter to me, but it is really just olive oil and loaded with Omega''s that are really good for you.

All cured meats like bacon and ham are loaded with sodium, but the ones without it aren''t tasty at all.

Cooking with fresh herbs and spices is the best way to get flavor without the sodium. As already mentioned, almost all processed foods, or prepared foods are loaded with it.
