Hello everyone,

Well I''ve been a lurker for about a year, but I''m finally ready to get serious about finding a diamond. FYI, it''s for a ring to wear on my e-finger but I"m not calling it an upgrade, cos hubby is a bit sensitive about that issue. So I''ll just wear it on occasion.

My original e-ring is a very sweet .3ct in yg. I still love it but just would love to get something a little bigger, and a lot better cut. I''m looking for about .7-.9ish in my new stone. I love the concept of the 8* and have looked at one in person. I did love its appearance, but of course didn''t love the price. I would have to drop to about a .5ct if I went with them. I have just ordered in a .7 from Whiteflash ACA to compare. It is their ''New Line'' so I hope that it gives me the 8* look without the price!

Just wanted to add that I am in awe of the collected knowledge here. It has taken me this long to get the courage up to post. So please be gentle!

I should have the Whiteflash stone tomorrow and I hope to take it to my local jeweler to compare in person with the 8*. The jeweler shouldn''t have a problem with that should they? I''m just so intimidated by people selling diamonds, I don''t know why. I guess they represent complete luxury to me, I only have my one little e-ring diamond.

Well this has turned into a bit of a spiel, thanks for reading!

Welcome to PS Angeline!!

Don't be surprised if your jeweler tries to cast a shadow of doubt over the stone from Whiteflash, even if it performs as well if not better than the 8*. Remember, they're in the business to sell merchandise and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried very hard to make you feel insecure about purchasing the stone from.......gasp........an internet provider.

Chances are you'll be thrilled with the ACA from Whiteflash.

Good Luck..........

I wish you the best of luck, I hope you have a lot of fun choosing the right diamond for you :) There are so many options out there as you know... I''m sure you will find a beautiful diamond that calls to you... I don''t know about the local jeweler being for/opposed to you looking at their stone, but I hope they''re okay with it... good luck! :)

Thanks for replying Cehra and Rod! As it was my first post (now I"m up to two!) it felt a little like throwing a party and wondering if anyone will come! I think I''ll call my jewler today to make sure it''s okay to bring the stone in.

I love this forum!

You''re most welcome!!!! I''m sure they''ll welcome you brining in the stone, just don''t let them put doubt in your mind over the quality or authenticity of the Whiteflash stone. Most B&M (brick and mortal) stores would rather we never learned anything about the 4 Cs and most (if any) can not compete with Internet prices.

I wouldn''t tell the salesperson at the B&M where you got the diamond from. It may just complicate things or turn them off to dealing with you. Just tell them you would like to compare their diamond to one of yours.

Good Advice Jazmine.

Just saw your post and wanted to WELCOME you to the forum. Glad that you''ve stopped lurking.

Good luck at the jewelry store.
