Hi All,

After reading through the forums for a bit decided to register and hopefully get some helpful advice on purchasing an e-ring

I've narrowed my search down to 1 diamond (so far) which I've seen in person...

GIA Cert
Round Brilliant
2.01 cts
F
VS2
Triple EX (cut, polish, sym)
No Fluorescence

Total Depth 62.7%
Table is 56%
Crown Angle 35.0*
Pavilion Angle 41.0*
Girdle Slightly Thick Faceted 4%
There are quite a few small pin size inclusions but under a scope I couldnt make them out (I'm no professional by any means)

The HCA rating after plugging in the numbers it gave the stone a 2.4 rating, based on the reading I've done here a good stone is under 2...
So I'm at a loss now... What should I do the GIA specs look good but the HCA is not so good ???
Please, any help would be appreciated! This is a very large purchase and I don't want to get it wrong.
Thank you!

2.4 is ok.

Ditto, numbers are fine. Numbers from the GIA report don't tell us the full story. You saw it in person, so the most important question here is What did YOU think?

Yes I saw the diamond and I think it looks beautiful, but the dozen other comparable diamonds I saw looked beautiful as well.
I'm just sorta lost with the myriad of variables that go into the pricing and grading of a diamond.

Did you compare the diamonds under different lighting conditions? When comparing stones in person it's best to ignore the HCA and just trust your eyes. The HCA is meant to be used to narrow the field for stones that you can't see in person.

Most decently cut diamonds are beautiful. But there are marginal differences among them and your eyes may prefer one over the other.
