I knew that I had a shopping problem, I just didn’t realize how big it was until I moved last week. I dropped off 18 (you read that right!) industrial sized trash bags full of clothes to goodwill and I still have three walk in closets that are completely crammed full. While reorganizing I found 26 pairs of the same Jack Rogers sandals in every color of the rainbow. Old habits die hard, I’m a Florida girl, I’ve got to have my sandals and they are having a sale this weekend so chances are I’ll have 29 pairs by Monday!

Maybe not in the spirit of this thread but I have been obsessed with minimalism since January of this year. I've been watching lots of YouTube videos on minimalism so I haven't bought any clothes, shoes, toys or makeup this year for any of us. Trying to be very mindful of bringing stuff into the house so my spending is pretty much all consumables like food and household cleaners .
This needs to be my new addiction!!

Louis Vuitton. I have been sucked back in. Then Gucci. Then Hermes. Bad. VCA is only as needed. (As is I “need” any of this.). I’m discovering that jewelry is actually safer...:roll

Platters. I have a platter problem.
Serving dishes, in general, but platters specifically.

Funny thing is, when we were younger we'd actually entertain, so I could justify it. Now we're pretty anti-social but... they are still hard to resist.

Anything white, classic-modern and high quality bone china and I have an itch to acquire. High quality, high fired, porcelain with a warm white (not gray or cold white) glaze are also a weakness.

Serving pieces I am currently resisting:

I used to hoard decorative serving platters and bowls, bed linens, and reduced priced wrapping paper. My closets, basement and cabinets are filled with these things. Now I rarely entertain, sorting through the linens to find matching sets is a pain and use gift bags and tissue paper! Don't get me started on my endless bins of Christmas stuff.....
I could have written this...

I was reading this thread thinking, “I don’t have a problem with anything.” Then I remembered my seed issue. I have seed packets everywhere. I have a box where I’m supposed to keep them. It’s full. I also have seeds in my glove compartment, my make up drawer, and my junk drawer (of course!!) They’re in my office. I was looking through a decorative dresser I have in my living room and found two long lost packets. When we had our piano, I found ten packets in the bench.

I think the issue is that seeds are so cheap and I have memory loss. I get inspired and then...I forget! :lol-2::P2 The good thing is that when I find them again, it’s like finding an old friend. They eventually get planted.

Edit to add: yes, I buy duplicates all of the time.

Fresh flowers and annuals. I blame living in the Midwest for my fascination with flowers.
I cannot drive by a nursery without buying something during spring/summer.
I am itching for Mother's Day when I can plant containers and annuals. I buy fresh flowers for indoors every week. Our house is for sale, and when we have a showing I use it as an excuse to have flowers everywhere. Bathrooms, bedroom, kitchen, etc. When we have parties I order Costco roses online---$40 for 50 roses. Cheaper than buying arrangements and I have flowers everywhere. I especially like having small bud vases in the bathrooms. And on my nightstand.
The good part is that they don't fill up closets and dressers--lol. So a self-regulating obsession in that they get thrown out.

I may have a discount store problem too. Just because I don’t shop full retail mall stores, I tend to be out of control when I hit Costco, Marshall’s, TJ Max, Home Goods and local outlets. I tend to hit these stores a couple times a week and spend a couple hundred each trip.
