If the pavilion is 40 degrees then too shallow. Look for a crown angle of between 34- 35 degrees and a pavilion of 40.6 - 41 degrees, look at the advice posted in the other thread concerning good crown and pavilion angle combinations.

pavilion angle , it is exactly 40.8 deg. on the GIA certificate

Ok, from the post above it said 40 degrees! 40.8 is much better, can you get an Idealscope image for the diamond?

Are you buying this online?

If so, any vendor you like to buy from or anyone is good? Give us your budget and specs for the stone and we can help you look for one if you like?

An idealscope image is preferable for that angle combo, can you get one?

i looked on advice in the other post and it is availiable on blue nile. is is priced at $5200. trying to locate the ideoscope image.

BN will not be able to provide an Idealscope image.

yup they told me that cant . what are the options now. what do u guys think is it a good buy with specs available

It might be but the angle combo is an unknown quantity, borderline what we call steep deep, so it could leak light or not as the case may be as GIA round the numbers. If the numbers are in actual fact rounded in a shallower direction the diamond could be fine, if steeper then it might not be. If you want to pursue this diamond BN do have a 30 day return policy.

thank u , it is better with angles and cut but i i vs2 clarity which should not be a problem.
i am hustling to change my order as i bought other one already. BN said that they would take care of it in day or so and replace the diamond soon.
thanks for help and your time guys. i learned alot today.

So you got it? That''s good. :)

Good Luck.

yes i bought it , i still have 30 days to return it if not satisfied or have alternate one.

ok received the ring with platimum setting , Baguette and Pavé Diamond Ring in Platinum 950. it has onlhy 4 prongs. my wife loves it but i am just concerned it it would be better to have 6 prongs.
thanks
