Hello, ladies!!
I am newly engaged (last Friday, April 18!) and I''m stopping in to introduce myself. I have been reading this forum WAAYYY more than I should...
See, I''m finishing up law school shortly (I have finals the week after next), and will be studying for the bar exam from the time I am finished with exams until the very very end of July. For those of you who have been through the process (or know someone who has), I am sure you''re aware of how absolutely and completely time-consumingly wretched it is/will be.
So, the day after we got engaged, I announced to EVERYone important to me that I will not be talking about or thinking about any wedding plans until at least August--as things stand, I do not have a definite job lined up after my bar classes, so I have nooo idea how much money I''ll be making/saving, and I cannot possibly start thinking about planning a wedding when I have so much on my plate and no idea how to pay for such a thing!
Of course, though, I have been procrastinating something AWful and been online looking at this site (and others for registry purposes--my mom says people want to get us engagement gifts?! I had no idea there was such a thing...)...
Since I''m lurking anyway (and REALLY enjoying reading about all of your experiences and advice!), I thought I''d drop in and say hello and get involved--even if unofficially.
I would love to get married within a year/year and a half, but I don''t know if that is possible or anything like that, soyeah. That''s my story!
(oh, and I''m almost 27 and my FI is 31...so although we''re not in the biggest rush in the world, I certainly don''t think we''re too young to plan something in the semi-near future!
