Hey, how 'bout that stock market?

Should you discuss the details of what's going on???

Hell yes.

It's so depressing......why do that to your kids...

Because by not discussing it you’re actually doing them a greater disservice. Life isn’t fair. Just because you’re a kid, doesn’t mean you’ll be spared. And in a situation such as this, ignorance is poison.

Yes, daily. Keep it short. Never too late to start. Also, find out what/who they're watching. Some of it is actually dangerous. There is also a lot of good information, but without discernment, you can't navigate. That's where you can help. That's what I do with the youngest. The eldest is already involved in toe dipping state level politics, so he knows.
I've got teenagers......
Their heads are so deep into Tictock and so much other BS.....
It's horrible to have to deal with this as a parent.

OTOH- they need to know where we are- and the $hit they're watching online is so.......not on track
There's no doubt in my mind kids are getting radicalized by online influencers.....

As a general aside because it's important. Go and read the Axios article
This a trial balloon to something worse. 'It is happening here'.

Hiya, Pie! Give me a day or two and I'll definitely message you and we can jaw.

We have 6 kids. Ages 27-15. The youngest is a fighter, a debater, and heavily into politics. She’s also involved in student council in high school, and was elected Homeroom Representative (she’s only a freshman).
Our 25 year old pays attention, forms opinions based upon research and voted for the first time in his life this past election.
The other 4 are split as far as their interest in politics.
Teenagers are adults in training. They need to be informed, educated, and given opportunity to figure things out independently, and without influence. There is so much misinformation out there, right now. It’s important for you to buffer all that and provide your kids with accurate info, and let them make decisions based upon what you give them.
Have the tough conversations. They will thank you later.

I have discussed many elements with them.
I have to pick and choose.
Let's face it, we could spend the next three hours discussing the firehose of bad news coming down the pike.
It's pretty much impossible to "censor" who they listen to.
The internet is, let's face it, an open book. They have access to stuff we could never dream of when I was a teenager.
I have come to realize that they will have to make their own choices- I can guide best as I can- but if a kid wants to listen to someone like this Tate fellow......there's literally no way to protect them from it.

:knockout:
You have my deepest sympathy.

If I was straight I'd use condoms 100% of time.
This stupid human race deserves to go extinct! :wall::wall::wall:

I would love to hear more of your thoughts on this. If you’re open to sharing, I’m ************************* on IG. Thank you!

I trust nearly all the PS members who post here, but the Internet is a dangerous place.
We have no idea what creepy people, organizations, or bots with dark agendas, are lurking here on a site for DIAMONDS:$$)::$$)::$$)::$$)::$$)::$$)::$$):!!!!!! :evil2::evil2::evil2:

I was in the US military for 6 years of active duty, with a security clearance.
I was taught that secrets are a puzzle that bad actors are very well trained to solve.
When solving a puzzle two puzzle pieces are WAY more than twice as valuable than one.

For your online safety I've reported it to Ella.

Actually I just looked that up.

Sorry, for my poor vocabulary, and thanx for the new word. :))

Don't apologize, you just asked about something you didn't happen to know.
I personally admire that quality incredibly highly- I do the same thing, every day. Whatever I know, I'll always be happy tell you and you do likewise.

@ItsMainelyYou and @JPie, Please don’t take it offline. Can you try to stay in the guidelines here? I too love hearing what you have to say @ItsMainelyYou.

Well, if you have a question, just ask it! I may not know the answer, but we can try find out, right? It is hard to have a completely honest conversation. We'll just have to do our best, yeah?
