TO all of you who have read my questions, answered them, wished me well, and so on.
The ring came today! ! ! ! ! ! ! It is so, so sparkly and georgeous(spelt correctly?) THANKS SO SO MUCH! I received so much good will from you all that I am so grateful. I will post pics as soon as I can figure out how to work my camera. I need to get it insured. Do I go off of the appraisal amount or the amount that Jewelers Mutual quoted it?

I just got my ring insured through Jewelers Mutual and they needed the appraisal for the final amount of insurance. The quote should have been based on the amount of the appraisal that you typed in at some point, if you did it online. I don't believe that Jewelers Mutual does appraisals, plus, you'll want to get an independent appraisal anyway. But insurance costs should be in the ballpark of 1-2% of the appraisal value per year.

Added note: I forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS on your new ring! You should be very excited!
