When I was a kid there were lots of pay toilets. You put a nickel or dime in the slot and if you didn''t have it you shimmied under the door. I also remember when nicer department stores had an attendant in the john who would give you a handtowel.

Or diabetics? Definitely agree this is a bad thing. Men can hold it. Women and kids can''t. It''s sexist and ??? chronic disease-ist.

Hmmm not a fan of paying on an airplane when you''re already paying to be ON the airplane...

But I did see a number of pay bathrooms when I was in central Mexico recently. I was surprised cause I had never really seen any before. I made sure to use the free bathrooms whenever I had the chance. I did end up paying once - we were about to get on the bus for an hour drive back to our hotel and bumpy mexican roads and a full bladder are NOT a good combination (learned that one the hard way...).

I think this could spark a few battles of wills with flight attendants.. I can see my mother (who''s a pretty feisty woman) telling a flight attendant point blank that she either opens the door, or my mom will just pee on the floor! a bit of bladder warfare

I was stunned when I read this at work today. I couldn''t finish reading it because as a Risk Manager I was mentally distracting by checking off all the negative consequences and claims. So, so, very stupid.

Ryanair are always in the media for plans like that. They''ve been speaking about this for the past few years. They also had a plan a few years ago for people to stand on the flight instead of every one sitting. I have to hand it to Michael O''Leary though as ryanair is always in the press. stand on plane
