Her Gift: Fancy Pink pinky ring from IceStore

Ariel at IceStore (CA) has the nicest colored diamond inventory I have come across in the U.S. He was competent in his knowledge, willing to send to any appraiser of my choosing, and his return policy was reassuring. He emailed me some much needed education on colored diamonds, answered my questions on the phone, and there was no pressure on his part. I actually talked myself out of this idea more than once. In the end, the heart always wins out.

This is a GIA natural fancy pink .43 cushion modified brilliant in platinum (size 2.5)
There is a small bezel set diamond beneath the pink which made for a very nice & unexpected touch.

The ring design I had made is fairly simple, as compared to the other amazing designs at IceStore. However this is exactly what I was seeking for her pinky finger.

I p-think she will love it.

What type of setting is that for the pink stone? Channel, half bezel? That is exactly what I want; it looks like a tension set, but more secure.

I believe it is tension by what I can see...Although I''m not 100% sure with my setting techniques and terminology to be accurate. I just gave IceStore a few different pics of my ideas and that is what we came up with.

The band is not any wider than the diamond really. Very dainty.

Most pinks I ran across were horribly included. Most of the stuff I viewed was really bad to the naked eye. Luckily, all of Icestores colored diamonds were of good clarity, proper paperwork, and an owner that was nice and knew his business.
