My bf has purchased a beatuiful signature ideal .92 carot G color VS1 diamond from blue nile. I am making myself crazy trying to figure out what kind of setting to put it in. I am currently in the process of having a local jewleler design a ring with tiny pave diamonds on the band and a pave halo. The total carot weight of the pave is .70 on the band. I''m worried about a few things although I do think this band is beautiful. I wanted the signature ideal cut for maximum brilliance and am worried the diamond is going to get lost in all the surrounding bling since I plan on a diamond eternity band for the wedding ring. More importantly is my concerne about the pave diamonds falling out. I''ve read a few posts about how easily these little guys pop out. I''ve considered sending the diamond back to blue nile to have set in a simple solitare 4 or 6 prong setting. I went to Tiffany yesterday to try on the solitare setting to get an idea (again) of what this would look like. But it''s just not very exciting no matter how pretty the center stone is! Can someone give me some advice especially with regard to pave diamonds falling out. These are true pave set diamonds, not shared prong. If anyone has any pictures of their pave rings to share especially with halos, I would love to see so I can see how much the center stone stands out.
