I have a wedding ring I want to sell. It was only worn for two weeks! My EX and I were married for 13yrs and towards the end things where really rocky so I think he got this for me in hopes of buying my love

Anyways....

It was bought new from the Shane Company, has an Certified Appraisal , Lifetime Guarantee and can be Traded Up if wanted. I called Shane Company and they said the warrenty and trade in/ trade up can be transfered to the new owner when it's sold. I just need to contact them to let them know.

GIA Certified
The ring has One Brilliant Cut Diamond Weighing 0.72 Carat Natural.I SI1 Stone is Round
There are 10 diamonds princess cut on bothe sides of the main diamond totaling 20 stones weighing 1 carat total
Was purchased for $5,445.01 July 12th 2004

I have recently taken it to a couple of jewlers in town and they think it is now worth $6,000. But prior to selling I will be taking it back in to the Shane Company and they will re-appraise it for free.

I need suggestions on where to sell this. I dont want to give it away for nothing but I also know I whont get what we paid for it. Please HELP!

Many jewelers will take in your ring on consignment and will take a percentage of the sale of the ring. That is a good way to go. I''m not a fan of putting it in the classifieds, too risky. Good luck, I hope you get a good price for it.

Thank''s. I was thinking either that or ebay. Was hoping for something quicker though.

like what?

You really have 3 choices.

1) A quick sale at 1/3 what you are looking for (I am sure Shane would buy it back under those conditions).

2) Putting it up for consignment at your asking price and waiting perhaps a long time.

3) Something in the middle; say consignment at a reduced price (say 4000) which should lead to a quicker sale.

e-bay has not worked out for several people who have nice rings.

I wish you luck.

Why wouldn''t you just return the ring to Shane Co.? They have a 30 day return policy.

I think this is why it can't be returned. I thought the same thing as you golden_eyes and had to go back and look again why this wasn't the case.

Good luck on this!
