Hi all,
Am desperately searching for the best value for money ring to buy my girlfriend. As we are in Australia it is much cheaper to buy online from the US. Budget is around $5000-$6000 US dollars. Emerald cut and a halo style, I think she'll say the bigger the main stone the better!

Do not buy that ring. It's a stock picture there is no indication of the cut quality of the stone (which is what differentiates a dead EC from one that sparkles, and trust me most EC's are glassy and dead) and no indication of the quality of the setting.

Just wanted to point out that the original ring you linked to has only a 1 carat center stone. Despite the claims of it being a 2.47 ring. The carat weight is in all the cheap pave in the setting not in the center stone. Plus that much pave is a bad idea and will result in many unhappy returns to getting the setting fixed because it's losing stones. You will be much better off with one of the settings from James Allen. And EGL is not a certificate you want, when your budget can easily get you GIA without any sacrifice at all.

Eccm, I would contact ID Jewelry (address the email to Yekutiel and tell him PS sent you) for a quote on that setting and ask them what the leadtime, if any, is on it. Then ask them how they would want you to manage the shipping to them of the stone for them to set.

Make sure you tell them that their quote needs to include shipping to Australia.
