Help-Would you use brilliant or step cuts on this setting?

I am re-setting my 1.5 ct princess cut stone and love this setting. My question is, would you go with princess cut stones on the halo itself, or stay with the step cut stones on the halo itself as shown in the picture?

I do like the contrast of having both cuts in one ring. However, seeing that the ring already has step cut stones on the traps and on the shank, would the princess cut center stone look "out of place" if I kept the step cut stones in the halo too? FYI- my wedding band has 5 bar-set princess stones on it.

And am I crazy to be obsessing over this tiny little detail??
