One concern we have is that people will bring lots of gifts to the actual wedding and we''ll have trouble sending them home, plus owe a FORTUNE in taxes and duties coming into the US.

I''m sending around an e-mail with information on hotels, etc. and thought I would include this:

4) Some border issues.
For those of you arriving from abroad, now would be a good time to make sure your passport is up to date!
Another border issue is US Customs. Your presence at our wedding would be MORE than gift enough! However, if you choose to give a gift regardless, might we suggest using the mail within the United States to avoid customs issues for us coming back to the US. We can provide registry information (they''ll do the local mailing for you!) on request. But again, our only wish is to have YOU there!

Thoughts? Suggestions?

You don''t need the part in red. Kinda like overkill on the politeness. Without that, the rest of it is perfect!!!

I think it''s very polite, without being in your face. Way to go IG!

I wouldn''t be offended if I saw that. I can''t think of what I could do to phrase it better. Great job indy

kudos! nice job

Completely agree! Very well written!

Sounds good to me.

Sounds great to me! Nobody is going to wish a huge customs wait (let alone bill) on you, and anyone who hasn''t thought of it themselves already will more than likely appreciate the tip. Well done.

Thanks everyone! That''s very helpful.

I think it sounds great, and I agree I don''t think you need to add the last sentence, either.

Maybe you could just finish it off with, "We can''t wait to share our special day with you!'' instead.
