help with this star rubies,are they or it Real

Would someone help me this these star rubies/star sapphires? it can tell if they are synthetic i think they maybe.heres pictures of them and the back side.They are set in 14kt gold gold earrings.

I'll play, the fact the stars are so sharp and look exactly the same in both stones, the fact on a tilt angle the stars don't seem to move around the way they should and the weird haze/oddly milky colour on the bottom of the stones makes me think they are probably synthetic or heavily treated stones.

Thank you found them in a thrift store,they're set in 14kt gold?????? Why ,looks.

I think they are synthetic for the reasons already mentioned.
