Hello all,

I recently acquired this little dainty 3 stone 18ct ring. It's sold as an art deco piece, but I think it might actually be much younger? It's marked inside with "TAD, 750, sheffield hallmark, DIA 45". I have got two close up shots of the centre stone, does it look like modern round brilliant or early round or even transitional to you? Could someone on this forum help me with the cut of the diamond and the age of the ring? Many thanks!

My first thought was transitional also, but looking at it again.. the diamond looks to me like it has a flower pattern, but not an OEC flower pattern. I wonder if it might be a specialty or proprietary cut? But I agree with you, it's more of a modern cut stone than an OEC.

Thanks VRBeauty! I agree it's not an OEC but I also see a flower pattern which is not entirely the same as a modern round brilliant cut.

I don't know about the diamond, but it is a lovely ring on its own and with the band. So pretty!

Many thanks kgizo,

I haven't stopped wearing this combo since I acquired my 3 stone ring! I am in love and am so happy that my antique eternity band can be put to use now. They've been waiting for each other for too long. =)

According to my jeweller the ring dates back to the 1910s-1920s and the stones are transitional cuts. :wink2:
