Hello all,
I have just joined after making the decision to purchase a stone from an online vendor, and spending a few days researching. I began with a budget of $7500, and after finding the ideal setting for $2000, these stones represent my current idea of the direction I should go. The setting is 18k white gold, split shank, with a square halo. I have spent most of my time on the Blue Nile and James Allen sites, and have found several choices within my budget at BN.

I am hoping to find the best cut 1 carat stone attainable with the $5500 I have left in my budget, without dropping too low in color as to compare well with the surrounding halo stones. In my brief look through the forums, I see many of the conversations about cut and the resulting sparkle turn to particulars of dimension (which these stones seem to meet) and light performance tests (which isn't readily available for most BN diamonds).
As a newbie I'd appreciate any advice. I never thought I'd be making a purchase like this online, but any help interpreting the numbers to find a beautiful stone would be very much appreciated!
