Hello everyone! Obviously I''m new with this being my 1st post. However I have been lurking for several months and I must say you folks have a great thing going with this site. I knew nothing about diamonds before I found this place and now I can go into a jewelry store and speak with some intelligence. Anyway, thanks to every one for all you do for the new guy!

The time is quickly approaching for the big question to be asked. While its exciting it can be quite frustrating finding the "right" diamond and setting, as I''m sure you all know. I hope everyone will be patient with me and lend your knowledge. My girlfriend knows what type of ring she wants and she has already picked it out. (will discuss in another topic) The diamond is up to me! My budget is not huge but its enough to get a quality stone. The basic specs that I''m trying to find are: Princess Cut 1.05-1.2 carat/vvs2-vs2/G-H/ with a "very good" cut at the least. After reading about grading labs, GIA is a must. From searching sites recommended by pricescope my search brought me to abazias.com They have some great prices! I found several diamonds that I would like to get your opinion on.

I know its alot but your opinion is much needed

Thanks again!

Firstly you have little chance anyone will open all these stones.
Secondly GIA reports will give no help on cut quality of princess
3rd - do you need VVS? VS2 will sparkle just as much, so will SI1, but you can see most SI1 inclusions in princess thru the side of the stone

It''s hard to evaluate princess cuts online. Why not rely upon a trusty vendor who has already assessed them? Whiteflash has an ACA princess category. Here are some suggestions:

Here are a couple more that just missed being "A Cut Above," and would also be fine choices:

Tugboat,
Welcome to Pricescope. With a princess cut stone, it is difficult to evaluate just based on the GIA lab information. The GIA stones need to be proven with an ASET for light performance. The plus is that the colour and clarity is most likely to be accurate as stated. To take all the guesswork out (if the vendor does not have the capability to provide you with an ASET scan) is to buy AGS0 princess cut stone. AGS has already graded their stones with an ASET so it saves you a lot of sorting and sifting though tons of diamonds to know 100% that you have a sparkler. There is no reason to go up to VVS. VS2 is very clean and G/H is a great colourless range to aim for.

Thanks for the replies. Again, I learn more with every post I read. The whiteflash diamonds are very nice and a few are within my budget. I will continue looking around and ask for your opinions in the future. Any other "tips" you would like to share, I''m all ears!

Thanks

Is Whiteflash the only site that sales AGS0 princess cut diamonds?
