I already decided on the diamond and the setting to go with it. But here''s the new dilemma! I wear a size 6 comfortably but now I''m pregnant and gained some 15lbs and still wearing my ring wich is 4mm width that feels snug but still comfortable. My new setting will be 2.5 mm that I will wear with a matching w-band 2.3 mm. My questions are... how to correctly measure your ring size? Should the ring spin around a little or snug? Should it be effortless when putting on and removing the ring? And how accurate are those plastic ring sizer?

A competent jeweler will have sizing rings for you to try with varying thicknesses. I think the plastic ring sizers give you a good general idea of what your finger size is, but it is better to get it done by the jewelers sizing rings.

How snug you want this ring is a personal thing. My wedding ring originally spun a little, but is now nice and snug after a couple years of marriage.

Since you are pregnant, you will more than likely lose a lot of this weight in the months following giving birth. I would go with the size you have now. If it gets too tight while you go to full term, stash the ring and put it back on after. You don''t want anything on that could injur your husband during labor..

As far as putting the ring on and off, I think it should be comfortable and I like my ring with a little movement, but snug enough if I make a quick movement or shake my hands the ring won''t come flying off.

Hope this Helped..

I agree. I''d make the ring your normal ring size and simply stop wearing it if you get puffy fingers from pregnancy.

I agree with all the above. About 5 months into my first pregancy my fingers swelled so much I had to take my rings off. I hated being pregnant with no ring so my husband bought me a pregnancy wedding band. Just a plain 3mm comfort fit band that was larger than my regular rings. I wore that ring from about 5-6 months of pregnancy until a few months after when my regular rings fit. This way I still got to looked married but did not have to ruin or size my rings.

I went on to have 3 more kids after that first so I got LOTS of use out of my pregnacy ring!! I was the first of my friends to have a child and many copied my idea of a pregnacy ring after I did that. Great compromise without ruining the rings.

Oh and I do think thicker rings fit snugger.

My rings tend to fit snugger in the summer and looser in the winter. I live somewhere with huge temparature swings, very hot summers and very very cold winters so its tough to find a middle ground.

And contrats on your pregnancy!
