Help with Princess Sarin

Hi. I''m new, but have read a lot here. Can someone help me point out what''s good or bad with this Sarin report? I noticed that the girdle looks bad - extremely thin. Anything else? I will have to go research and find a better diamond, but would like to know how to analyze a Sarin Report.

can you give the numbers of the official report?

maybe you should have them scan it on a princess setting...

it seems that the crown angle is shallow...

anyway, this Sarin machine does not have the capability to give you all the necessary details on this stone, and even if it did, <5 people on PS would be able to read it.

First off

This is not a Sarin report. This is a OGI megascope report. The scan appears to have been done for a round stone.

Hence, it is worthless.

Nothing can be gathered from this report.

Sorry - I don''t understand. What numbers from the official report do you need? Also, what do you mean by asking them to run it on a princess setting? Why can''t anyone read it - is the resolution too low?

Sorry guys. Just got an email from the jeweler saying they had sent the wrong Sarin Report. Here''s the correct one. I thought the diamond in the first one looked round!!!

By the way - it is an E, VS1, .54ct, Princess diamond going into a solitaire, tiffany setting. Any opinions on the new sarin?

Still isn''t a Sarin Report.

It''s a Megascope one, and many of those are not accurate in the measurements it reports.

2% girdle on a 1/2ct stone is less than 0.1mm and there is no way I would set this for you or sell it to one of my clients.

I would never bother using a sarin or any other scan report on a Princess or any other fancy stone to decide if it is good - other than the girdle thickness.

This is a job for the super heroes - ASET or any other direct assesssment flavour you favour.
If your dealer can do you a sarin or Helium scan with a 3D model - then we can get some value from a scanner

Well, I guess I'm not going for that then. Thanks for the feedback. I asked the dealer for an Idealscope image, but they said they did not have it.

Any other advice for my continuing search? I guess I should ask for a medium thickness for setting purposes?
