As far as the 1.36 and 1.26 ones....both IF Clarity.....just wondering if the G-H is a MAJOR difference and if .10 of a carat is noticeable......and the 1.32 one might be my favorite because of the F color...but does the VS1 hurt it and the VG Symmetry and Polish arent EX......or am I nitpicking too much? If they all look about the same in size and brilliance lined up with one another....would it be just best then to take the 1.26 one and live with the H color? Or does that .10 of a carat make a huge difference along with the G upgrade? I am buying the ring and band with blue saphires, if that helps....its white gold....not sure if the size of the stone matters if its bigger or smaller....I know there are pros and cons with all of these....take and give.....Im sure most people are going to say the clarity is not a big deal....but the IF clarity just seems intriguing to me because not many people have them.....also, is the depth, table, Symmetry and Polish all ok? Am I wrong for thinking this or just being picky? Your help is greatly appreciated.......

Thank You.....

Sincerely,

Andrew

Lately, I have gained a lot of experience cutting AGS-0 princess-cuts, and I have learned that these 3 stones are not deep enough to have great light performance.

This is against the general knowledge in the trade, but AGS has pushed us out of the traditional boundaries, and we have learned a lot from that.

Live long,

I personally wouldn't pay for an IF . one little scratch and your IF clarity is gone. I had a VS2 downgraded to an SI2 in my recent appraisal due to some normal wear and tear damage. I would rather spend that money on a bigger stone

It is true that you will pay a hefty premium for IF clarity. On the other hand, it isn''t likely you will scratch a stone since only another diamond will scratch a diamond. Furthermore, a scratch would not likely affect the Internally Flawless clarity grade of a stone.

VS clarity should servce you nicely.

Finally, I would agree with Paul on the depth - in general, too shallow for a Princess cut...but if they look good to your eye - who can argue!

Thanks for the input........It seems that a lot of the blue nile diamonds that I want are in the range of 64-70% in depth.....Ive seen and hear so much of what is good depth....but I truly am not sure.....of course I got this from www.bridaltips.com Im not sure if they have an affiliation with Mondera and Blue Nile......but I think they do......

Thanks Again.....

Andrew

According to you guys what would be the best depth for princess cut between 70%-75%.
What about the table ??

I think the last stone is the best of the ones you posted. It might be worth looking into (despite the premium you''ll pay for IF). The others I would avoid.

I just wanted to clarify my statement. i used scratch and should have used chip. it is my understanding that a chip can cause internal damage that can lower the clarity and that clarity could not be improved with repolishing or recutting. When i sent my stone out for a recent appraisal 2 chips were discovered which caused the clarity grade to be lowered. I explained in another thread on this topic that I do not remember hitting my ring, dropping it, or doing anything that would have caused the chips. However, I did wear it everyday and did normal every day things with it on. No one knows for sure when or how the the stone was chipped but it does happen. With repolishing or recutting Rich told me the clarity would probably improve back up to a SI1 but the stone is eyeclean and in his opinion probaby not worth the trouble. All that to say, I would not buy and iF stone because "I" woundn''t want to pay the extra $$$ for something that can''t been seen and can possibly be changed. Of course some say this is what insurance is for. My company will only pay to repolish/recut and not give me a new stone for normal wear and tear damage. if i backed over my ring with my car, lose it down the drain, in the ocean, etc..they replace it, but for unexplained chips, no new stone for me.
