Hi folks,

I'm really into ordering a preview of this diamond.
www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD20320965

I think given the unpredictability of cut on Ovals, these numbers look pretty good. But I don't have a strong enough eye to detect cut. Here are my questions:

  1. Is the cavity a non-starter for such an expensive piece?
    1. I couldn't see the cavity in the pic.
  2. How would you rate the cut. I know there's not a lot of fire in Ovals, but I want the best I can get?
  3. Is this JANNPAUL guy legit with his Hearts and Arrows Ovals? They look awesome and even more expensive. (
    )
Any thoughts or feedback? Would love if the community could even help with what perfect ovals look like online. This was the best I can find but the don't exist >2ct.

Thanks in advance everyone!

For me the cavity would make it a no go.

I was afraid of that.

Distinctive Gems has a 10 main oval (personally I prefer the 8 main H&As you've already posted) but here's a link

Hi, edwinf.
Yes, JannPaul is legit to the max...they have some of the most amazing cuts on the planet. So much so that they prove it with all necessary advanced images (ASET and/or Ideal-Scope) as well as patent their cuts.

DG's Elyque ovals would be another high light performing diamond: they meet AGS Ideal criteria for light performance.
Here is the light performance section of the 3.29 that tyty333 posted above:
