Someone''s getting some new studs!

Its me, its me!

Now comes the hard part! I have a few choices here...

First, I have been given a budget of "around" $3000 for a NEW pair of studs.

I''ve been browsing the RSG section on Whiteflash a lot lately. Seems like I could be in the 1.5ct tw territory, which would be alright with me!

I have found that I really like the Martini''s AND the 8-prong ''Tini''s. I"ve read that Whiteflash''s diamonds are all ideal cut, so the RSG''s should be beautiful. I am new to Pricescope, and new to all the number-crunching that can go into diamond buying, so if you diamond savvies have some time, could you post a couple "good ones" that could work for me?? Pretty please?? Yes, with the cherry on top?

My second option would be to reset a pair of studs that were gifted to me some time ago from my late grandparents and then get the INFAMOUS DIAMOND BANGLE from WF! (Mara and others, your photos of this bracelet are to DIE for! Lucky gals, you!) They came with a small local certification dated October 14, 1970 - which ironically is a week after me and my husband''s wedding date! (But quite a few years later!) Pretty much stating 1) 1.88ct SI round 2) 1.85ct SI round and both "near colorless." Under a loupe I can see a feather under one of the prongs on one and a few pinpoints and a small feather on the other, neither one bothers me a bit. However, the setting is an 18kt yellow gold "illusion setting" and they have the screw-on backs which I despise. I would really like to reset them, but I see that Whiteflash will only sell the mountings with their diamonds, and I''m guessing hubby won''t be too keen on buying two near 2ct stones for me, no matter how many treats I bake him!!

Has anyone been able to purchase the earring mountings from them and been able to set their stones locally?

I have to say, after searching ALL the "diamond stud" threads here, my goodness, some of you have wonderful collections!

Thanks in advance for any help and or advice!

It is seriously no big deal to have diamond studs set by a local jeweler. Anyone can order martini settings. I would not get ready-set-go because those stones cannot be upgraded. If you are happy with the studs given to you by your grandparents, then I''d just have the reset in white gold locally and buy the bangle!!! $3000 would not buy you ideal cut stones as large as you have now.
