This is my first post although I have been reading posts and learning so much information over the past
few weeks thanks to everyone on this board. I am searching for either a lucy cut or princess cut diamond
(still haven''t totally decided) and saw a clucy cut today that I could really use some opinions about:
EGL Certified:
Lucy Cut
1.52 Ct
Measurements 6.74 X 6.60 X 4.56mm
Proportions:
Depth: 69.1%
Width: 61%
Crown Height: 15%
Pavilion Depth: 53%
Girdle Thickness: Medium Polished
Finish:
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Culet: None
Clarity: VVS2
Graining: Nil
Color Grade H
Fluorescence: None
Price $9900
I saw the stone today and it was very pretty but looked a little yellow to me. I tried to
ask the salesperson about the cut (since I learned from these boards that it is so important)
but she didn''t seem to know what I was talking about and kept saying the Polish and Symmetry
were "Very Good" so the stone was cut well.
Also, a friend told me that the EGL usually certifies diamonds at a higher grade the the GIA would.
Is this true? Could this be why the stone looked a little yellow?
Thank you so much for your help.
