Hi!
I''m Looking for some advice and opinions on a particular diamond. I had a post earlier about my search for a diamond for an engagement ring. Here''s what I was looking for:

-1.3-1.35 ct Round
-AGS0 or GIA EX Cut (prefer AGS 0 but having difficult time locating very many that are in my price range
-SI1 or SI2 (must be eye clean)
-H color or better
-EX/Ideal polish/symmetry
-Holloway cut advisor 2 or lower
-$7500 is my limit and prefer closer to $7000 for the diamond
-setting is going to be Ritani endless love Halo

With the help of Lorelei I found a AGS-0 that fit everything I was looking for except that it was a I color. I said I didn''t want to go below H, but I had some questions that I thought some of you here might be able to answer.

1.First, will an I color diamond with a medium blue fluorescence improve the I color and make it look more like a higher color grade...say like a H?

2.Since the diamond is an AGS-0 ideal cut will that make make the I color look better and less noticeable for color?

3.Lastly, I''ve read that I color diamonds usually face up white and the the color is usually noticed on the sides. Since I''m setting the diamond in a halo bezel(G-H color diamonds) setting, and the sides aren''t being shown, will it be difficult to tell that this diamond is an I color?

With the AGS-0 cut, medium blue fluorescence, and halo setting will I be able to notice a difference from an H to an I? Is it worth getting the H over the I? Any ideas, opinions, or comments will be appreciated.

To answer your questions.....

1. yes, fluorescence in an I stone will usually help to mask warmth. Some folks feel it has the effect of making a diamond appear a grade or two higher in color.

2. yes, AGS0 stones are top make, and top-make stones typically mask body warmth/color very well. In most cases body color isn''t really noticeable face-up; to the extent that it would even be visible at all, it would be most likely in the side (profile) view.

3. Based on your setting, I''d say that most people wouldn''t be able to even distinguish a visual difference between the center I stone and the G/H melee. There are always those handful of super-sensitive color hawks out there, but the *vast* majority of folks won''t see any difference.

Hello, Allison has given great advice.
I just wanted to add that I''ve just purchased an I colour ideal (but Square H&A), and it''s even white than had hoped! As long as its ideal cut like you''re looking at (AGS0 will be great), than you''ll have no issues with the I, and no, no one will be able to tell!
