Hello everyone!
^_^;; I am very new to the world of jewelry, and actually have never cared about diamonds or really thought about getting one...

That is until the day, several years ago, my then boyfriend showed me a Kirk Kara cataloge. I fell hard for one from the Victoria line, 6835-R & 6835-B, and have thought of nothing else since. Fast Foward a couple of years and we are happily engaged, but I made the mistake of never telling my fiance how much I really wanted that Kirk Kara. We have since talk about it, and he agrees if thats what I want I can get it and use that as my wedding ring! (Yay!)

Now comes the hard part. I have been trying to do research online about prices. And while Kirk Kara''s site does not post prices, I have been contacting different vendors that do carry this item for quotes. I followed the advise posted in a prior topic on this board to make sure to include what type of metal I want, my finger size, and the size that I would like it to be to hold my center stone. (still trying to pick White Gold or Platinum... Size 4.5 and the center stone will be 1ct)

I have received a few replies back so far for this, but it now seems appearent that none are taking into account the size of my finger for the estatments. I have only been able to get the retail price so far.

Am I wrong that the price is different based on size? And is this normal for the quote to only be the retail price? Is there anything else I can do to make sure that I am getting an accurate quote from these retailers?

Thank you very much for taking the time to view this!

Hi celes,

I think, like me, others may not be so sure what you mean here..

Usually, unless you have a ring size that is considered larger than "average" range, the price is the same for all sizes. It will be higher if you have a larger size, but it will Not be lower if you have a smaller one (most of the time). Is this what you were expecting? TBH, 4.5 is a pretty average size

Also, what type of price except for retail were you expecting?

It would be helpful maybe to know what kind of vendors you are contacting - ie. Brick and Mortar stores, online vendors etc.?
You will find a variation in price with online vendors, but for designer settings it is usually not that substantial.

I understand this answer included alot of "usually" qualifiers, but I''m not sure how else to help you?

Thank you for that info! Yes that is pretty much just what I was looking for. ^_^

I had tried emailing Kirk Kara directly and I had kinda gotten the impression that the price was dictated by the size, even if it was smaller. So it is a great help to me to know that smaller sizes are what the 'Retail Price' is there for.
