Hey All,

I''m slightly confused by AGS reports. Most diamonds I''ve seen have a text grading ranges (ie medium, thick, thin, etc). However, the AGS report of the diamond I am looking at only has girdle percentage (1.3-3.6% faceted) and I was wondering what this means in the normal thickness ranges? Does the large variation in girdle thickness hamper light performance or is the girdle truly only used for the setting of the stone?

You all have been an incredible help to me!

It appears to fall into the thin to medium range, shouldn''t be a problem!

awesome! good to hear!

Lorelei is right, it’s tn-med on the charts. Just so you know, AGS reports always have wider girdle ranges. This is because GIA and AGS have different ways of measuring. The GIA measures at the 16 valleys only but the AGS measures the thin-thick range wherever it happens on the girdle. Nothing to worry about.
