I am looking for a platinum setting containing a surprise stone, but still has the solitaire look. As I am on a budget and want to atleast have a single carat as the center stone, I have been checking sites such as white flash that have cheaper settings. Does anyone know where I could get a nice deal on a solitaire setting with a surprise stone? Thanks in advance.

Also, are there any sites that have cheaper, but still quality, settings than white flash?

Scott Kay is the king designer for using surprise diamonds. here is a solitaire setting, it comes in platinum, White gold, yellow gold and palladium, going with one of the latter 3 metals will save you money. Don't know how pricing would compare to what you saw on WF's site though..

Whiteflash's pricing is very competitive but there are other sites that do just as good work. check out Mark t at engagmentringsdirect.com, goodoldgold, wink jones at Winfields, and James allen are some of the other popular vendors here. you can also check out Pearlman's who carries the most settings but they are all designer so they may or may not work in your budget. There is some truth to getting what you pay for though, so don't go down too low on your setting cost

WF has some of the best prices around for high quality solitaire settings. If it were me, I would get just shy of a carat due to the significant savings. An ideal cut .9 will look bigger/nicer than a significant number of the one carat stones out there, and there will be big cost savings.

Then you could make sure you get a quality setting AND someone great to set it for you.
