hi PS members!
I've been lurking on this forum for a few weeks now, and finally have the courage to post up a thread. This site is full of knowledge, and it seems no matter how much I read, there's always something more to learn!

I am currently looking for a loose stone on JamesAllen.com as per recommendations on this site. I chose this site because they will give me idealscope images and they have a great return policy.
I am currently looking for a stone for my soon to be wife. I spoke with my girlfriend about diamonds earlier, without giving her any hints about anything, and she mentioned she wants a huge rock.

Her finger is a size 5. I'm sure she wants the largest I can afford, which isn't much, lol. But I'm willing to make a few sacrifices for this ring. So I've been looking.

So when she looks down, I want to see the large diamond, and something extremely clear. I want something EXTREMELY bright and brilliant. I don't think D-F colored diamonds are worth it to me in terms of cost, hence the "G" color rating that I am currently looking for. I want something "eye clean" that I cannot see any inclusions or imperfections up to 6 inches from the eye.

Also, sizes... I am looking at round diamonds sizes in these variations ... 1.61, 1.62, 1.7, 1.71, 1.8. I would personally prefer larger stones. Budget is $24k

Cliff notes : looking for the best value diamond in the sizes above. "G" color and VS1 would be the minimum. If you can help me find a few so I can compare, it would be great! I will be posting some stones that I have found with their values so hopefully I can get some help.

Thanks in advance!

Now just to play devils advocate, you can get an I (still near colorless) VS 2 (eye clean) stone over 2 ct for your budget...many find these specs to provide the best "value" :wavey:
