Hello Pricescopers,

Many moons ago I discovered this amazing community and embarked on my first upgrade project with the help and advice of many here. Three upgrades and about a decade later, I am looking for help once again with my final upgrade. I am hoping to get as close to 4 carats as possible.

One of the vendors here sent me the specs on this diamond. I am certainly no expert, but I don’t think this is the greatest diamond. Please let me know your thoughts:

4 carats
J SI1
3X

Sorry, but I don't think the term "final upgrade" is permitted here on Pricescope. :lol-2:

Frankly that diamond could use a recutting job.
You wrote 3X.
If GIA gave that cut an Excellent grade it is a perfect example of how GIA's cut grades benefit the diamond industry, not the diamond buyer. :nono:
If they cut it well it would have fallen below 4 ct, making lots of money go poof.
Since few people know about good cut but everyone knows about carat weight they made a good business decision.
It will sell to someone who doesn't know any better.

Unless you want to send it out and pay for it to be recut (and accept an unknown loss of carat weight) I'd keep shopping.

Thanks, Kenny! It really has to be my final upgrade since I can’t afford anything bigger That’s what I suspected… I will keep looking

You could post your budget and ask for help.
What size is your current stone?

My budget is 52-55K.

I am looking for as close as possible to 4.0 carats; no lower than J color; as low as SI1 or as long as eye-clean; cut - excellent.

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Here are the search results from the PS diamond search engine. Be sure to check things like polish and symmetry since I did not set constraints to those fields in order to have potential candidates appear in the list that don't have that particular data populated. Meaning, there could be some GIA 3X and AGS 000 diamonds that show "n/a" for those stats in the search engine results.
The results are dynamic: they change as diamonds come and go, do be sure to check regularly and be ready to move if one pops in that captivates your attention.

Hello again!

It sure is slim pickings out there, trying to find PricesScope approved diamonds within my budget . Could you give me some feedback on this one? I will upload video shortly. I am concerned with “faint brown” but vendor has assured me diamond faces up white and there is no tint of brown.
Thanks in advance!

Can you have them provide advanced images of it?
It looks great in this video!
Unfortunately, they are unable to provide ASET/idealscope images ahead of time and would require I purchase the diamond before bringing it in for imaging. Although a couple of vendors I've reached out to have said they have a 5-7 day period of return, I am reluctant to work with anyone who can't provide these images upfront.
