Hi there,

I have been looking online for the last few weeks for a lab grown engagement ring. I understand how important the 4 Cs can be but after looking through some threads here there seem to be a lot more that goes in to finding a great diamond.

I am in Australia and found some good priced diamonds on jogiadiamonds.com.au. I'm not sure if these would be would be good quality though. I have looked at alot of US based companies which seem pretty good.

I was looking at something around 1.4 - 1.8 in Carat weight. But I would be open to recommendations. For the setting I was thinking a pave style ring.
Looking at spending around 4 - 6k. So was hoping to get some advice and recommendations.

I had seen this diamond recommended on another thread that seems pretty good. But price might be high?

Thanks heaps for your help

Thanks Kim, I will have a look at those. What setting do you think would work well? Would something about 2mm wide be OK for that size diamond?

I think 2-2.5mm would be great for that size diamond. Take a look at these settings.

Those look great, thanks Kim. What do you think of this diamond? Seems good for the price

It's beautiful and has my favorite proportions. It's CVD, so there are some striations, but likely not detrimental to performance.

Ok, what does that mean? Nothing major? Would you pick it over the 1.75?

Thanks again for your help, it's good to have an expert opinion

Nothing major, but the 1.75 is an HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) without blue nuance, which I would always pick over CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition). An HPHT without blue nuance is the closest thing to a natural diamond.

Oh ok, so there is a chance it could look blue?

No, the 1.75 won't look blue because it doesn't have blue nuance. HPHT can sometimes have blue nuance, but the 1.75 doesn't have it.

Oh I see. But the HPHT will be better than the CVD

There are good stones with both HPHT and CVD. IMO, the 1.75 is better than the 1.84 because I do see some striations in the 1.84.

Ok awesome, I will probably go with the 1.75 then. Thanks heaps
