Help with emerald asets from JA

Finally received the asets on emerald cut. Which would you pick?

I'm not an expert but I would pick the third one. Wait for others who are much more expert and knowledgable than me to comment.

Yup. Higher color (it matters with step cuts). No p3 issue. Nice even distribution of green and reds throughout stone.

And the H is larger than the first one as well (dimensions not carat weight).


But it's interesting. I prefer the video of the first one. If it wasn't for the possible p3 with the that one... it would be my favorite. But then again, the color is an I and I'd rather have an H.

Yup, I agree. I prefered the I video too but the aset is kinda a let down. Love all the red but wonder if the lack of red smack in the middle of the stone means its gonna be dark in the middle. I did notice the size difference between the I and H. But when I picked the H I was questioning how dark it was when view straight on so the asets have thrown me a loop. So pick the H, huh?

Everything except dead center on the I is perfect. And that dead center is a flag for a p3 angle problem.

It's a pity; I like the first one too but that center just isn't performing.

So a very bad p3 issue would be black or blue (or white if the background of the ASET is white) in those facets on the ASET. This one is showing some green. So while it is not totally shot, those facets are not optimal. So it is still going to be dark in the center face up and overall light return will be impacted, but not as much as if those facets had ASETed out Black or Blue.

If you wanted to, and you could afford it, you could get both the I and the H in person and see what you think of them and make a decision that way.

EC's really SHOULD be seen if at all possible.

I would buy it and see it in person. See if you love it, if you do... then keep it, if you don't we'll help you keep looking.

I agree the first is disappointing as the center is dull. The H is nice but i wish it has a higher crown.
