Hi all! This is my first post here although I''ve been lurking on this site for a while. I''ve read a ton but it only added to my confusion, so I''m hoping for some suggestions/advice. I''m looking for a 3+ct RB, G-H color, VS-SI1 (eyeclean, of course), ideal cut. Basically the best I can find. Budget around $30-35K.

I used the PS Diamond search and only found one that fit my criteria:

3.01ct, H SI1

This one seems nice too although not "ideal"
3.01ct, H VS2

What do you think? If anyone has some free time to waste, can you help me find others to look at?

Thanks!

Girlsbf,

Well, you found the same one I did.

It may be worth a closer look...

Looks promising, get an Idealscope image from JA.

If you want to get more options, best to contact the vendors and tell them of your specs, not many will stock the size you are looking for but have access to those stones.

Hi girlsbf

The first has potential, it is a bit deep in the depth but from the loupe image it looks like a nice diamond, request an Idealscope image from James Allen and that the diamond is eyeclean. There is a cloud inclusion plotted too, make sure that isn''t affecting performance by asking one of the gemologists to check.

Second one doesn''t look as good, need the grading report but the first diamond looks preferable.

Thanks everyone! I''ll look into it further and hopefully find others to compare.

Just an update....

I requested for the ideal scope right after I read your responses. From the time a sales rep contacted me for my phone number to the time I responded (within 3.5 hrs), the diamond was sold. You can imagine my disappointment, especially since it has been available for a while. Does this happen often?

I guess it''s time to be patient since I haven''t been able to find another one like it within my budget from the PS diamond search. If anyone sees anything worth checking out, please let me know.

* sigh...* sometimes it happens yes. But don't worry, that wasn't the one.

Stone's selection looks good if it is eyeclean ( check with BN) and they have a 30 day return period so plenty of time to evaluate it.

Thank you, Stone and Lorelei.

The BN stone does seem very nice. I will look into it further.

Good luck this time round. :)
