Hi Everyone!

I just want to say that this place is totally awesome, the site has so much information! I''ve really learned a lot about diamonds the last five days, but am still very nervous about finally picking a diamond.

I''ve found three diamonds that I think my girlfriend will love, but at this point I am having a hard time trying to decide which one to buy. These are the diamonds that I am currently looking at:

Right now I am leaning towards the last one because it did well in the cut adviser, the four C''s all fall into areas that I like, and the price (I think) is pretty good. In the end, I just don''t know enough and would like to ask everyone for some input

Thanks to all in advance for the help!

Welcome!

Firstly, I take it that your preference is for very high colour and clarity? That is fine if so, but as I don't know how much info you have covered, I just wanted to make sure you know that you could drop both of these considerably and perhaps go larger if you would like? You probably know that cut is the most important thing for a diamond's beauty judging by the diamonds you picked, but if the cut is great, you can lower your colour and clarity and still have a very white and clean diamond. My pick would be for the last diamond also.

I like both 2 and 3.

Thank you both for your replies!

Yes, I do indeed have a preference for very high color and clarity. The reason I have the two of these factors so high is that my girlfriend has already "suggested" how many carats she would like and the cut of the diamond. Since I am restricted by two of the four C''s, I figured I would put my own preference into the other two C''s

Also, I was wondering, is there any advice you or anyone, could give me about buying the diamond. I know that JA lets you have 30 days to check out the diamond and that getting it appraised by an independent appraiser is very important. I was also thinking of having it set with JA too and then getting the appraisal done somewhere near me, but is there anything I should do before going through with this purchase? Any advice would be great!

Thank you all again!

The only thing you could do that I don't think you have is ask for an IS of either, or a couple to compare. You have to pay for those though I believe, so not sure you want to do that. 2 and 3 are pretty safe with the numbers, and it could be splitting hairs, 1 I would definitely want one. Just throwing it out since you asked.
