Hi all,

I was wondering if you could help me with a pair of diamond earrings. I have a small (1/3 ct?) bezel-set diamond pendant which I wear every day. I would like to purchase a pair of bezel-set leverback drop diamond earrings in white gold with a fairly thick bezel to match my necklace. My budget is in the $300-400 range. Do you think I could get something nice & subtle for everyday wear, or should I keep saving? I''m guessing that I''d be looking at stones around 1/4 ctw, but maybe the bezel would make them look a little more substantial? Any suggestions? Thanks!

This is my necklace (sorry for the stray hairs!)

Something like these?

I know nothing about the vendor, just googled "bezel leverback diamond" and these popped up.

Thank you, albicocca & kaleidoscopic!

I like the lever back setting on the first pair & the thick bezel on the second. I think either pair could work nicely, but if I could merge the 2 settings, it would be exactly what I want!

Let me know if you guys find anything else & thanks much!

Ok, I've done a little more research & have some solid options here. Could you guys give me your opinions on which seems the better choice for me? I'm just not sure what color/clarity I can get away with for earrings. They'll be really small stones (1/3 ctw, so about 3.6-3.9mm each plus the girth that's added by the bezel) so what should I look for in terms of quality?

Here are my front-runners (in no particular order):

I'd really appreciate your thoughts. I'm so confused! I wanted a thicker bezel to give the earring more presence w/ such small stones & to better match my pendant, but do you think that will look best? Thanks for your help!

Bump.

Anyone?

I''m leaning towards either the flat donut or double bezel at USA Jewels or the Union Diamond earrings.

What do you think about the diamond quality on these as well as which setting would look better w/ .33ctw diamonds in a leverback drop. Do you think they should match my pendant exactly?

Here are some more photos of the USA Jewels settings.

I think any of those would work fine...and I don''t think they need to match your pendant perfectly. Can you choose the quality of the diamonds in these pieces? If so, I personally think getting the best cut is more important than the color/clarity for earrings.

I''d probably go for the double bezel drop..thinking they might show up more than studs. But I really don''t think you can go wrong with any of them!

Thanks so much for your advice, widget.

I''m really leaning towards the double bezel drop too. I think the donut bezel probably matches my pendant better & could also be done in a drop, but I think the double bezel is more interesting looking & would also add more girth to the stones. I''m glad you think it wouldn''t matter if the bezel was an exact match for my pendant. (this was one of my big questions...)

Yes, I can choose the quality of diamonds in these pieces, but none of the vendors I''m looking at specifies parameters for cut, only color & clarity & carat weight. (Unfortunately, WF was a bit out of my price range for this purchase.

Thanks again for your thoughts.

My vote is for the double bezel drop too. Just a thought on the earring setting though, the pendant is on the chain and moves with you, is there a way that they earrings could have a jump ring between the bezel and the leverback? That extra movement may have a great impact on the sparkle factor because the diamond will be swinging. It''s a very pretty pendant by the way : ) I am not sure if this is an option. Please post which ever ones you choose, they are all quite lovely!

I wish you well,

Bridget

Thanks for your thoughts (& compliement on my pendant), bstraszheim.

I will check with the vendor to see if it''s possible to alter the design a bit to allow for some movement in the earring.

Perhaps the setting could look something like this? (disregard the yucky diamond...)

Hi Brightspot,

I think that those earrings would work wonderfully, especially since they compliment the design of the pendant so well. If these are an available option, I would choose them (but with a better diamond : ) )

I wish you well,

Bridget
