I'm looking at two engagement rings......well four but two scored lower on a hca calc so I put them aside. Can someone with knowledge please help advise me on which could be better cut.I'm being super particular in the cut aspect I want the best of the best.these two stones are g color I keep hearing its colorless to an untrained eye....so what does the trained eye see or is looking for so I can see it myself when I'm looking. I took an eye color sensitive test I found a link off here and scored a 3. 0 being the best so I want to see what I'm getting into with the g color before I buy it also. Thanks in advance.attached are the reports of the stones.

Hello,

In terms of the better cut, both are very similar in a lot of ways. I think you need to look at something slightly different: Generally, I prefer a diamond that is less deep because it offers better spread and makes the size look bigger. The measurements on the second stone are only slightly more attractive given that it is 0.07ct larger. The depth should generally have a limit of somewhere near 61% to maximize sparkle (of course, someone may disagree) Additionally, in the second certificate, I see a 35 degrees crown angle. I prefer to see that number closer to 33 degrees.

Therefore, overall, I would go with the first stone as it has a more preferred Depth % and more attractive crown angle.

Thanks,
Anubh
