Here we go. To summarize my story as briefly as possible I am in the process of trying to create my idea of fabulous studs. For my 40th birthday this year and 10th anniversary next year my hubby said "how bout a diamond for each?".....um....YEY!!!!! So here I go trying to buy these diamonds.....
I am after a 2 ctw.set or just shy of that. I like the idea of each diamond being in the .90ct range. It just seems a bit more cost effective. My budget is around 4k for each stone.
I was poking around a vendor called "brilliance". Anyone familiar with them? And I happened upon a diamond I really liked. I ended up purchasing it thru them a couple of weeks ago. Here are the first diamonds stats:

Gia,RB, triple ex, .92cts,I color,si2 clarity, clarity characteristics-crystal,eye clean, measurements- 6.29-6.34x3.83mm., table 58 percent, depth 60.6 percent. Crown angle looks like 34.0 and pavilion looks like 41.0 ( hope i have that right)

Now this diamond is very pretty, don't get me wrong. I think it scored a 1.4ex on the hca ( again, if I am doing it right). My one hesitation with it is I kinda wish I could see more of the hearts and arrows effect. Specifically the arrows. I like when your able to see the contrast of the dark arrows running thru the bright white of the diamond. But maybe in a diamond of this size it doesn't stand out as much? Or I should have maybe purchased one that was specifically a H&A? Am I being too fussy? It is definitely a very sparkly diamond.....maybe for my next stone I should go with a H&A? Will I notice that big of a difference do you think?

Brilliance does have a 30 day return policy so maybe I should return it and start again? I was very happy with their service. Specifically Evan who was more than accommodating.
I had it set into a martini style setting in white gold. The other earring was set with a temporary cz. This way I can wear them until I purchase the second stone.
What do you think? Any suggestions out there would be greatly appreciated!! This is such a big purchase for me I just don't want to have regrets. Thanks so much! :))

HI,
I would contact ID Jewelry and see if they can find you another stud. Tell them what you want (to be able to see arrows in the stone).
Also tell them that you are a PS memeber. I migth even consider returning the first stone if its not what you want.

Thank you tyty. I just may do that.
I wish I could figure out a way to post a picture of this diamond from my iPad. The pictures just aren't coming up under " choose file".

You should find reviews on here if you do a search (try searching with "pricescope" in the string on Google, works much better for me than the native PS search!)

numbers are fine

There could be many issues here. First, a smaller diamond has smaller facets closer together which does make it more difficult to pick out patterns in the mumbo jumbo, but a 1ct isn't "small" in this regard IMO. What is lgf? Or post exact carat weight and report number and we can find it online.

A stone w/ very long lgf will have very thin arrows, so even leaning over it face-up at the right distance to create the obstruction pattern you're looking for won't give you that big bold ARROWS look you want - it just doesn't have properly sized facets.

A stone w/ shorter lgf and decent optical symmetry will show some arrows pattern, but again it can be hard to pick out esp in a moving diamond - to see those giant arrows you see in pics you'd either need to hold very still at just the right orientation or take some photos! I've never seen a GIA EX with those sorts of proportions that doesn't show at least *some* arrows pattern... but I'm not an expert and I suppose there must be a few such specimens floating around somewhere!

Whether or not you would see the difference between your stone and a "true H&A" of similar proportions so to speak depends on the details of your stone's proportions, which the GIA report doesn't tell us about, and your vision and what is "mind clean" for you...

I don't think PS accepts some image file types - tiff, etc. Try saving as a .jpeg or .png
