I am searching for an emerald cut, preferably 1.2-1.3ct, l/w around 1.4, polish/symmetry VG/VG, and clarity VS1/2. I would prefer F color, but I am having difficulty finding an F with those exact qualities when I search the PS vendors. I have found other ECs that are G color that more closely match my criteria. Would an F with good symmetry and VG polish necessarily look better than a G that is VG/VG, given the same clarity grade? I feel like I am fixated on F color. Will it make that much of a difference in an EC?

one color grade isn''t going to be a big deal. G is fine.

I have a G/VS1 EC. Its sparkly, white, and gorgeous!! You are fine with a G colored diamond. Best of luck with your search!!!!

You''re fixated. G''s are gorgeous. Get over it, and give those G''s a chance. Once you view one personally, you''ll be blown away.

G is only one colour grade lower; you will only notice the difference from the side, when the stones are side by side.

Depending, you may not notice any difference at all between and F and a G even with close comparison. A G is a more than respectable colour grade and fine for a step cut such as you are considering in that size - I would say no worries, it is easy to become fixated on a colour grade or something else, but often with further investigation you find your fears are groundless.

YOu probably wouldn''t be able to tell the difference between teh F & G if you held them side to side. Definitely go with the G.

Thanks for the reassurance! I will definitely ask for advice when I find one I like!
