Hi guys!

Now that I finally have my dress figured out (the Melissa Sweet Lia), I need to start figuring out the bridesmaid dresses. Here is a picture of my dress: http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_return.jsp?search=lia

I really want a nice shade of pink for my girls (not too dark/bright but not too soft). I also really don''t want them to wear full length dresses, but I want to match the style/formality of my dress. Also, I don''t want them to be too expensive! It seems that there are so many BM dresses out there that are over $200, though nice!

So far, my only leads are this one from Ann Taylro in Berry: http://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/outfit.jsp?ensembleId=3074&N=1200198&pCategoryId=193&categoryId=1739&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_1739

Also think this one is cute but 1) don''t know the price and 2) i worry that the pink is too light: http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=602&sfid=50420&f=

Any and all suggestions appreciated!!!

Ohh Both of those are VERY nice. I love all Ann Taylor Dresses, and I don''t think you could go wrong there. But That p.o.b dress really does a good job of mimicking your dress. I think the pale pink is very pretty, but maybe you want a bigger contrast between it and the color of your gown. If you aren''t concerned about that though, then I think it''s a good choice. I would love to wear either one if I were a BM.

just an FYI, I was looking at Melissa Sweet bridesmaid''s dresses and they are around $300-$400....yikes!

I do know Vineyard is PoB''s more affordable line though....

I personally like the Vineyard dress better...Definitely go to the store and see what the pink looks like in real life!

Thanks, Fancy! I''m so glad you like both options - you are too sweet! It''s nice to hear that someone neutral likes them, I''m always worried that my girls are too nice to tell me if I have horrid, terrible taste :)

I love the POB one, I''ll call tomorrow to find out the price! Maybe a little more affordable since it''s Vineyard? I know their bridal gowns are more reasonable priced, but I wonder how their BM dresses range?

Thanks for your help!

I LOVE the second one. Not sure what to tell you about the color though. What if you got it in a more neutral color and carried the pink over through the flowers?

I like the second one.

Thanks for the input, guys! I actually found the 2nd one in a pretty, brighter pink called "persimon" so that could work!

Kara, yikes! That is expensive! I really hope Vineyard is a lot more affordable :)

I have to say I love the Ann Taylor dress, its gorgeous, looks very rich.

I do like the POB dress but I think it is TOO much like your dress. I deffinetly agree with you that you and your maids need to look like a cohesive party, but I think the POB has almost the same, if not the same fabric, and very similar top as your LIA. You need to shine in your LIA, and be one of a kind! But I looooove that dress, I wonder how much it costs.

I think the Ann Taylor dresses would also be very easily worn again by your girls!

I like both but I kind of agree with blueyes about it being too similar to your dress. Of course it is hard to say without seeing the whole picture. I love the Ann Taylor dress! Very cute.

Thanks, that is a good point gals! I don''t think it is that similar in design, but you''re right that the material is definitely similar! Here is the front of my dress if it helps - http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/page.aspx?username=MelissaSweetLia
What if the BM dresses were in a brighter shade? Persimmon or that cypress green?

Also, do you guys think this persimmon color will be more orange than pinkish? http://www.priscillaofboston.com/dress_detail.jsp?gid=602&sfid=50420&f=

Lastly, does anyone know of any dresses out there that they suggest (I need them to be pretty affordable too!)

How about a dress that mimics the sillouette of your dress? Something like this, maybe:

You might also look at the house of brides website. Several of their mfgs. offer huge selections of dresses for under $200, and they tend to be available in a wide range of colors.

Thanks MINIMS! That is a really good idea - I''m going to look around the Siri site!

I much prefer the ann taylor. Besides it not look too much like your dress, it looks like it would stay on better. I know if I wore the second one, I would feel the need to keep pulling the dress up.
This one could be hemmed cheaply to be the right length:

This might be too bright:

my friend really likes this company:

Yay! Thank you Brazne and Sophie for these great suggestions! So helful and great ideas! I''m going to pass some of these along to the BMs :)
